MANGERE WATER SUPPLY.

PROPOSED LOAN SCHEME. A poll on a proposal to raise a loan of £65,000, of which £47,000 will be for a water scheme in the Mangere district, will be taken on Saturday. At a meeting Of Mangere ratepayers last evening it. was unanimously decided to support the scheme. The.'proposal was outlined by Mr. F. M. Waters, "chairman, and Messrs. S. W. House and F. liickard. members of the Manukau County Council, and many questions were answered. It was stated that two bores sunk at Mangere mountain had - yielded <y plentiful supply of water and the proposal was to establish a reservoir two bores sunk at Mangere Mountain had with a capacity of 500,000 gallons, giving a pressure of 601b. The reservoir would : the Mangere Bridge, Favona and :_, ngere East areas. There would be no ■ increase in rates.
