Residents at the Waihi Beach have been trying for some time to arrange for tho installation of electric power for lighting puqioses, but owing to the required guarantee not being forthcoming the Thames Valley Power Board decided not to reticulate the area. In the hope of reaching finality a conference of representatives of the Tauranga and Thames Valley Boards, the Waihi Beach Improvements Committee and the Waihi Borough Council was held on Saturday. An agreement was reached whereby the Tauranga Board was given permission to reticulate the area and to supply power for two years. The Thames Valley Board reserved the right to take over at valuation at the end of two years if it so desires. . An early start will be made with the reticulation.
