HOWICK FLOWER SHOW.

GOOD DISPLAY OF BLOOMS. The annual summer flower show of the Howick Horticultural Society was held on Wednesday in the Public Ilall. The entries showed an increase on the previous year's figures and the display of blooms in all classes was remarkably good, considering the adverse weather that lias prevailed during the past few months. A silver cup for future competition in Pompom dahlia classes, 12 varieties, was presented to the society by Mr. ,J. Cullen, of Waimauku. Basket of roses: Joey ILiLlett, 1; Winnie White, 2. The Morley Bell Cup, awarded for the 1 most points in tho art flower classes, was won by V. L. Bagnall. For the Kohn Cup. i for most points in the decorated classes, Mrs. Bagnall und Mrs. Stevenson wore equal.
