IMPROVEMENTS TO ROADS. At a meeting of tho Howick Town Board it was decided to support the ro quest to tho Government for £ISOO to erect a residence for a caretaker at th» iWar Memorial Museum. , Tho consulting engineer, Mr. Grevillo •Walker, reported that the concrete paving had been completed as far as tho Pakuranga boundary. The road would bw open for traffic by the end of tho month The reservoir on Stockade Hill had been completed and after it had been sufficiently tested would bo put into commts sion by November 17. l'ho engineer was instructed to call for tenders for 'reticulation from tho street mains to the property boundaries. Improvements to footpaths in Church Street, tho top-dressing with shell of a portion /of Moore Street and the regrading of Reservoir Terrace were authorised by the Works Committee. The sum of £2O Is 6d was received th<» City Council, bcinp the Howick portion of the heavy traffic licence fees for the quarter ending September 30.
