Apivvt tvom dealing in this scrip trading was small in volume. Government investments remained in firm demand. In banks six parcels of Now South Wales changed hands. Tho first deal recorded took place lato on Monday at the current price, £3l ss. This was followed by a transaction at tho early call Jit £3l 2s 6d, on the Sydney register. Two more sales wolo completed at £3l at tho noon call, with a third at tho samo price in the afternoon. Business was dono again after tho closo of tho Exchange at £3l 2s 6d. At that price tho shares aro 7s 6d firmer than the lowest level reached in Auckland early last week. At tho close of the market offers were renewed at £3l, sellers £3l ss. Commercials of Australia were again easier. Following release 2d easier at 16s Id, further shares were sought at 15s 9d, with sellers asking the current price. Salo of Bank of New /enland D preforenco issue took placo 3d easier at 275. An offer of £ll tor Australasias was n6t met. In insurance offers were on a lower basis. Two lots of South British wero secured 6d cheaper at 56s 6d, after which buyers reduced their limits again to 555. Sellers asked 575. Sellers predominated in other sections, in which there wero no notable movements. In shipping Huddart-Parkers were taken at 30s, a fall of 7s 6d_ on tho last local salo recorded in May. For Now Zealand Breweries 42s was offered, an advance of 2s on Monday's figure. Sellers were firm 'at 48s. General investments were quiet and little changed. Australian Glass were sought a shado easier at 24s 9d. An offer of £3O 5s for Colonial Sugars attracted a selling quotation of £32. The only interest in New _ Zealand mining investments was in Waihis, which were steady. Of the Australian companies Mount Lyells only wero in demand.
