AIR PAGEANT THRILLS.
NEW SOUTH WALES MEETING. WIND STOPS THE CONTESTS. (Received September 14, 5.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 11. A boisterous wind yesterday spoiled an air pageant at Liverpool, 22 miles south of Sydney, and flying was abandoned after four heats of a 10-niiles race. The last heat was won by Mrs. Terry. The final will bo flown next Saturday. In one interval the wind caught a line of club Moth machines, ono of which was blown against a fence and damaged before the hurrying pilot and mechanics could seize it.
In the fourth heat S. Colville " pancaked" twice and then the wind caught his machine, tho propeller of which was broken and one wing damaged. Ihe pilot was not hurt.
