THE BLIND INSTITUTE.
Sir, —Mr. H. Holland is reported to have said of Mr. Morton Aldis that ever since Mr. Clutha Mackenzie had been appointed director of the Blind Institute .Mr. Aldis had "had his knife into Mr. Mackenzie" and done all he could to undermine Mr. Mackenzie's work. Mr. Aldis, who was secretary at the Blind Institute for some years, failing to obtain help from the institute for the benefit of the blind, resigned his position as secretary and gave up a good salary in order fo help the blind and be a friend to them, which he has always been. ■ He is now to be found every Sunday at the Auckland Infirmary visiting and reading to the blind, both there and at tho Public Hospital, coming from Devonport to do so. .Mr. Holland cannot know Mr. Aldis to have passed such a remark about him. Visitor to the Infirmary.
