SMALL WRITING.

Sir, —In a competition held in Wellington somo years Zigo, about 1927, I won the £2O prize by writing the word "competition" 2289 times on a space 2jjin by all legible to tho naked eye. My best effort is tho Lord's Prayer written 14 times upon tho size of a threepenny piece. A lithographer in Portsmouth, England, has written the Lord's Prayer 13 times upon tho same space, but the text he used was from the Prayer Book and it contains only 56 words, whereas the prayer I wrote was from the 6th chapter of St. Matthew, 9th verse, which has 66 words. Engravers are able to engrave tho same prayer upon glass, so small that it can bo read through the eye of a needle, but magnifying glasses arc used. I do not use one in doing my small printing, which I do with either a lead pencil or a fine nib. T. C. DOW-Creig. 114, Stafford Street, Gisborne.

Sir, —I have in my possession a specimen of small writing executed by the late Mr. D. C. Wilson, of Whangarei, who was for many years county engineer It is the Lord's Prayer Britten on onetenth of a piece of paper the size of a threepenny piece. I believe Mr. Wilson later beat this fine performance by writing the Lord's Prayer 12 iimes on the same sized paper. Leo. Mallabond. Parua Bay.
