The annual meeting of shareholders of the Opouriao Dairy Company was held . at Taneatua yesterday. , There was a record attendance, and Mr. Walter Reid , presided. , .• The report stated that production of * ; both butter and cheese showed an increase, and the output of butter exceeded 1000 tons for the first time. The quality ,~ of cheese had been good. The Ruatoki ?' factory won seven first prizes, including the championship of the Auckland Province. The drop in the value of produce resulted in disappointing prices for the iTj greater portion of the season. The wax- . ing of export cheese had proved successful. Standardisation of cheese was now on trial and the results so far were quite v.. satisfactory. ' Interpol charges were still high, but •. the payments at present being made would reduc; the interest charge by £2OO per " annum. At the present rate .of reduc-" ;ci tion the debit would be wiped 06 within five years. . The directors recommended the payment of a dividend of 6 per cent, on paid- '.r up capital.
