AUSTRALIAN FINANCE.

LONDON WRITER'S COMMENT.

IMPORTANT decisions likely. (Received August 14, 12.5 a.m.) '. r LONDON, August 13. The Morning Post's City Editor states that, reading between the lines of cablegrams from Canberra, he is of the opinion that decisions of importance are likely to be reached in the next few weeks in Australia.

" The refusal of all the political parties to recognise the authority of economic laws is the cause of most of Australia's troubles." says the writer. "We arc living in times when theorists are prepared to offer quack remedies, but it is feared that the most efficacious will be likely to bo unpalatable to the mere vote-catch-ing politician."
