TROUBLE WITH ENGINE.
ANCHORED NEAR CLEVEDON.
MESSAGE FROM MEN ABOARD.
The 36-foot launch, the Nicloa, with two brothers on board, Messrs. K. and A. McCollum, aged 26 and 22 respectively, of Thames, which left Kaiaua, on the Firth of Thames, at 4.30 &.m. on Thursday for Auckland, is safe. It has been anchored sinco Thursday afternoon in the vicinity of Duder's Beach, near (Jlevedon. The launch had been hired from 5 Mr. G. Keith, of Kaiaua, for a fishing excursion. Engine trouble developed on Thursday afternoon and the boat was anchored about three miles from Duder's Beach. The sea was calm and the two men did not try to make Duder's Bay although a small sail was carried. The launch put in to Duder's Bay on Saturday morning, when engine trouble again occurred and the two brothers towed the boat with its dinghy or» to the beach. Last evening they called at a store to purchase oil and advised Mr. and Mrs. E. Laing, of Hastings Parade, Devonport, who had been expecting them on Thursday afternoon, that they were safe.
