POSSIBLE DEVELOPMENTS. RETORT INVENTOR'S HOPES. (Received July 'J9. 7.-15 p.m.) LONDON. July '29. Important developments in tho extraction of oil from shale may result from tho pending visit to Australia of Mr. Crozier, inventor of a retort. The results achieved in Tasmania through this retort, it is said, may be applied to other slialo deposits and Mr. Crozier will infinite into the possibilities of the production of oil from coal.
