DANCE AT TE MAWHAI.
The fancy dress ball at To Mawhai, organised by the school committee to augment the grounds improvement fund, was very largely attended on Wednesday evening. Among those in fancy costumo were: Miss Jean Rogers, who represented an Eastern princess; Miss Moore, gipsy; Miss Fit zg i bin ins, Mr. Hayseed; Miss Willison, Mrs. Hayseed; Miss Mackenzie, baby girl; Miss Symonds, gipsy; Miss Laurence-, pierrot; Miss K. Laurence, picrrctte; Miss 11 art, pierrot; Mrs. Kmnaird, Irish colleen; Mrs. Howie, Miss 1950; Miss Webb, pierrette; Mrs. Nye, Maori chicftainess; Mrs. Uric, pierrette; Miss Nada Rogers, flower girl; Miss Helen Darnell, pierrette; Mr. Bishop, l!ev. Pepper<'orn; Air. Bruce, sleepless nights; Mrs. Smart and Miss AlacMillan, two little girls in blue; Mr. Kinnaird, Miss New Zealand; Mr. Rogers, the village squire; Mrs. Rogers, Joan; Mrs. tjnwin, gipsy. Tho prizes for most original costume were won by Miss Mackenzie and Mr. Rogers, and for tho prettiest costume by Miss Rogers and Mr. Nye.
