CONDITIONS IN SOUTH.
Auckland.—The weather v\ ;is fine yester(lav, biit a boisterous southerly wind mada the conditions very cold. There was :l further rise in the barometer, which was normal last night, the leading being oO.OOin.
Wellington.—Although the day was very cold and hail occurred in the afternoon the southerly storm died down in th® evening and iho stars shone. I here eight inches of snow on the Rimutaka Road vesterdav.
Christchureh.—The weather in morning was a mixture of rain, hail and r sunshine. Conditions became settled early in the afternoon, and tlio rest of the day was line but cold, the theiniometer recording 43 degrees. lhe barometer was .falling again in the evening) when the reading was 29.85 in. Dunedin. —Following a heavy fall 0
snow on Thursday night, the weather was fine but unset 1 led yesterday. Blight sun shine was recorded ;n the morning, hti tlio sky clouded in the afternoon. I' lo wind was Jigllt from the south vest maximum temperature was 46 degrees, barometei was fanlv high and steady, the reading in the evening being 29.85 in.
