LORRY STRIKES CAR.

RESULT OF AXLE BREAKING,

SMALL VEHICLE CAPSIZES

An unusual accident occurred on ths Great South Road at the end of (he concrete at Papakura about 12.30 p.m. yesterday.

Through an axle breaking as it passed from the concrete on to the metalled surface, a heavy motor-lorry swerved suddenly to the right and struck a small motor-car going in the opposite direction.

Tho car capsized, but, fortunately, the occupants, tho driver and a lady passenger, were not injured. Tho driver of the lorry also escaped injury.
