WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.
EDG ECUMBE
The Edgecombe Women's Institute met at Mrs. Hall's residence recently. Mrs. Eceles presided over a gathering.of 31. including eight, new members. The meeting opened with community singing. Mrs. Eceles demonstrated picture-framing with passe partout binding. A competition for the prettiest d'oyly proved very popular. The hostesses were Mesdames C. Terry, W. Matthewson, It. Matlhewson and Snelling.
MATANGI. At a meeting at Matnngi, hold for the purpose of forming a women's institute, an interesting address was given by Mrs. Irwin, organiser for (lie Waikato district, on behalf of the Women's Institutes. It was decided to form an institute and (he following committeo was appointed:—Mrs. Trownson, president; Mrs. L. .ludd, secretary: memhors of committee, Mrs. 11. Marvchurch, Mrs. Pingle, Mr.*. Thompson, Mrs. J. Ranstead, Mrs. W. Boyd. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the speaker for her interesting address. Afternoon tea was served before (he gathering dispersed.
