[ltY TELEGItAPII.—MESS ASSOCIATION*. ] CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The maximum penalty of £lO and costs

was imposed to-day upon Norman Wardell for driving a motor-car while bis licence was under suspension. Mr. E. D. Mosley, S.M., said that ho looked upon such an offence as one of the most serious that could occur under tho Motor Vehicles Act. Wardell was also fined £2O for driving while in a state of intoxication. His licenco was cancelled.
