ENGLISHMEN IN AUSTRALIA.
BOOK O.N THE TOUR. LONDON, July 21. " The Book of Two Maurices," written by the cricketers M. J. Allorn and M. J. Turnbull, describes the recent tour of the M.C.C. team in Australia and New Zealand, and freely criticises the Australian umpiring. The authors give many instances of alleged bad decisions against the Englishmen.
Tho chief criticism is directed to the mutch against Victoria, where the umpire insisted that the light- was fit for play. In consequence Gilligan and Duleepsinhji were speedily dismissed, anil when llie players came in a stone struck Benson on the neck and the crowd hissed.
Maurice Alhan and Maurice Turnbull, who were members of the. team under A. H. Cilligau. were at Cambridge. Cnivcrsitv togeHier, and played in the eleven. Allom plays for Surrey and Turnbull for Glamorganshire.
