MOTORISTS INJURED.
CARS MEET AT CORNER.
TV/O VEHICLES OVERTURNED
[EY TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OPOTIKI, Tuesday.
A collision took place this afternoon on the corner of Ford Street and Nelson Street, Opotiki, between a car owned and driven by Mr. R. T. Wells and a delivery van owned and driven bv Mr. C. Lingman. The car was travelling down Ford Street and the van was at the crossing on Nelson Street when the accident occurred.
Both vehicles were turned completely round and over on their sides, considerable damage being done to each. Mr. Wells, who suffered from shock, was accompanied by Mrs. Wells, who received injuries to the shoulder, besides severe shock. She was taken to a house and attended by a doctor. Mr. Lingman escaped with shock, while his companion, Mr. B. Litchfield, was cut about the head and suffered from shock. The occupants had to be assisted out of the vehicles lav Mr. Pearson, who was first on Ihe scene. The doctor stated later that Mrs. Wells' shoulder will be X-rayed, as there was a possibility that il was broken.
