CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

The Papal oetoe Chamber of Commerce met on Monday evening, Mr. H. C. Ernest

presiding. TIIO unemployment legislation, now before Parliament, was discussed. A resolution was passed disapproving of the bill and urging that tho ordinary channels of taxation be resorted to in providing funds fqr the relief of unemployment. It was decided to write to the Papatoetoe Town Board requesting that the question of paving the footpaths in the shopping area with concreto Hags bo taken in hand. It. was suggested that the property owners be approached and tho cost siiared equally between them and the board. Further proposals for the improvement of the shopping area were referred to the development and commerce sub committees lor a report.
