DOMAIN WINTER GARDENS.
The members of tho Gardening Circle of tho Lyceum Club spent Tuesday morning in the winter gardens arid potting sheds of tho Domain, under tho guidance of Mr. Turner, the head gardener. They visited about half-a-dozen glasshouses, nil heated lo different degrees of temperature. In tho tirst and coldest was a lovely array of cyclamens and primulas, ranging from white to purple, rosy carmine or deep bluo. In another, with a tropical setting of palms and forns, scarlet poinsettins, royal blue colons thyrsoidous, hanging baskets of red coluimiia, and hero and there a gay amaryllis made the visitors forget the biting breeze outside. A thrill of delight was provided by the orchids, with their tender blooms poised on fragile spikes, the lovely African violets and tho gynura with its purple-tinted leaf and orange flower. Among those present were: Mesdames Tattersfiold. Hammond, Hyde, F. Howard, Clinch, Morris, Astloy, J. Johnston, de Cuerrier, Woollams, Reilley, Hewlett, Mosely, Macmorran, Wilson, Price, Self, Teed, Dickey, Drewry, Harrison, Irwin, W. Johnston, Beckett, Misses Goldie, King, Lavers, Connolly and Dr. Gladys Rowley.
