GOLDEN WEDDING.

MR. AND MRS. J. PENMAN. Tho gofdeu wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. James Penman, of Devonport, was celebrated at a party held in the Domain Kiosk last evening. Over 60 relatives were present as well as a large number of intimate friends, and a pleasant evening was held with competitions and musical items.

Born at Kinghorn, Scotland, Mr. and Mrs. Penman camo to New Zealand 25 years ag), during the wliolo of which time they have resided in Auckland. Their two sons and three daughters arc also living in Auckland, four of them being married. Mrs. Penman wore a frock of black silk bcngalirie, and carried a, bouquet of violets and daisies, which was presented to her by one of her grand-daughters, little Kathleen Penman. During the evening Mr. and Mrs. Penman were presented with a purse of sovereigns from their relatives and friends.

Among those present were their two sons with their wives, Mr. and Mrs. David Penman and Mr. and Mrs. Archibald Penman, and their three daughters, Mrs. Macintosh, >7rs. Renwick and Miss Penman. Competitions were held during the evening and songs were given by Miss Nellie Penman, Miss Jean Penman, Mr. David Parrie and Mr. Audrew Thompson.
