TOUR OF INSPECTION,

VISIT OF MR. W. W. BIRD

[BY telegraph.—press association.] WELLINGTON, Wednesday.

Mr. W. W. Bird, chief inspector of primary schools, will leave by the Niagara from Auckland on July 29 for Fiji. There is an arrangement between the New Zealand authorities and the Government of Fiji that certain schools in Fiji -should bo conducted as New Zealand schools, the staffs being appointed in tho Dominion. It is therefore necessary that they should bo visited for promotion and other purposes, and for this reason Mr.. Bird, is making the trip. He will be away for one month.
