HIRE-PURCHASE SYSTEM
BUREAU OF INFORMATION. BRITISH FIRMS COMBINE. LONDON, July 2. A hire purchase information bureau covering firms with a capital of .£10,000.000, has been established in London. All their bite-purchase agreements will be registered. Thus the firms will be able to estimate the extent of their customers' commitments, and whether they arc faithfully carrying out their agreements. In order to prevent the trade secrets of one firm from becoming known to another, all the information will pass through (lie bureau, which will be as secret as the clearinghouse of the big banks.
Motor agents, furniture and gramophone dealers and the large departmental stores are supporting the scheme.
