YOUNG MAORI'S ESCAPADE. [nv Tr.LKGit.vru. —own coitttkspondknt.] HAMILTON. Monthly. A young Maori's fondness for early morning swimmiug led (o his nppenranco in tho Hamilton Magistrates Court today, charged wit!) wilful exposure. The accused was Erilin Rcli, who maintained silence when asked to plead. Evidence was given that early this morning the accused was seen l>v a roadman at Whatawhata, walking along the bank of a stream without his clothes. Tho temperature was below freezing point. Accused's brother said Reti went for a swim regularly and usually wore a costume. Senior-Sergeant Sweeney said thero was a dense fog at the time. The magistrate said that would bo a factor in mitigation of the offence. Tho accused was convicted and discharged. \
