The Australian team of athletes will arrive to-day by the Aorangi, and, with the New Zealand team, will be the guests of the Northern Boxing Association at the boxing tournament tc be held in the Town Hall this evening. The New Zealand team, of which Mr. Hobbs, of Christchurch, is the manager, is as follows: Rowing Crew—Eastwood (cox), Brough (stroke), Gilby, Johnson, Mac Donald, Olsson, Ross, Sandos, Saunders, Thompson and Waters. Sprinter.—A. J. Elliott (Auckland). Long-distance Runner.—J. W. Savidan (Auckland). Javelin Thrower.—S. Lay (Taranaki). All-round Athlete.—Johnson (Dunedin). Swimmers.—Miss G. E. Pidgeon (Auckland), G. Bridson (Auckland), and R. Calder, diver (Dunedin). The following bowling team will accompany the party:—Fielding (Wellington), Frost (Auckland), Leach (Stratford) and McWhannell (Wellington). There was some doubt in Auckland about Savidan's departuro. The local athletio centre had to raise a certain sum of money in order to make certain that Savidan would go. On Saturday morning £4O more was required to assure Savidan of a place in the team. Mr. W. Morton, president of the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cyclo Club, stated subsequently that although the whole amount had not been raised, the necessary balance to send Savidan to the games had been guaranteed by two cnthasiastic amateur sportsmen in Auckland.
