UNEMPLOYMENT.
Sir, —I was much interested in reading in the Herald that a wage-earner was interested in helping the men who are unfortunate enough not to be able to earn at present. My husband has had no regular work for the past three years, and I, being brought up on a farm in the Old Country, thought if we Could lease a farm and get a few cows, etc., and also a few tons of manure, we would be happy. We have got so far as leasing the farm, and under ideal conditions, as, it will indeed be a cheap rent. If we could only get a. loan from some fortunate person at low interest for a time we could help ourselves to a decent living, if not to prosperity. It seems hard when one is really willing to work hard and go without every possible thing one can, that you cannot even get work to help along. I am a mother of a big family of small children, but am willing to work hard to repay any help afforded to me in the time of need, and my husband is willing to go anywhere and 6log if we can only get a start. Up Against It.
