YEAR'S WORK REVIEWED. NEW OFFICERS ELECTED. The annual meeting of the Auckland Council of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture was held last evening. Mrv F. H_ Leonard presiding:. The committee's report stated that tha tesc. area for citrus research continued to make progress. Two valuable reports prepared by the committee in charge resulted in the renewal of a grant from the Departmem; of Scientific and Industrial search. Horticultural instruction been continued at the Seddon Memorial Technical College. 15 pupils having been registered for each of the two classes, botany and principles and practice of LortiraJtore. The financial position was satisfactory and a small credit balance was showa on the year's work. The following officers were elected;-* President, Professor J. C Sperrin-Joha-son; Dominion vice-president, Mr. D. Hay; chairman. Miss E. F. Kihfclewhiie* vice-chairmen, Messrs. F. H. Leonard ani W. H. Rice; executive comnrictee, Mes» dames G.
