PREVENTION OF CRUELTY.
The monthly meeting of the ladies' committee of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held in tho society's room, Dilworth Building, cn Wednesday evening, when plans were discussed for giving prominence to the work of the society in animal welfare week and to augmenting tho fund already opened for providing a lost dogs' home. It was decided to meet weekly in the society's room on Tuesday afternoons, members undertaking to contribute a small sum weekly or bring in a book for sale or loan and to make articles for sale. Some beautiful oddments for these were brought by Miss Emily Rendell for distribution among workers. Owing to sickness, the hon. secretary and treasurer, Mrs. McShane, sent in her resignation and Miss E'. Moon hon. secretary and Mrs. J. J. Kearney hon. treasurer in her place. Among those present were Mrs. M. Arthur, president, Mrs. Kearney, Miss E. Moon, Miss Milburn, Miss McLaughlin, Mrs. Cowley, Mrs. Hardy, Mrs. Milburn, Mra. Mann, Mias E. Rendell, Miss L. Moon, Miss Hiiwkes, Mrs. Shroff, Mrs. Franklin, Mrs. Bushell, Mrs. Noble, Mrs. Goldie, Mra. Farmer, Mias Brooke-Smith, Mis 3 Arthur.
