NO TRIAL TO BE PLAYED. PORTER AGAIN CAPTAIN. [3X TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] WELLINGTON, Wednesday. No trial match is to be played by the New Zealand team prior to the second test at Christ-church cn Jaly 5. This was decided upon by the New Zealand Rugby Union, when three letters from the Ashbnrton Union concerning a proposed trial match to be played by the AH Blacks before the second test were received.

Mr. A. J. Geddes (Southland) was appointed manager of the All Black team for the second test. C. G. Porter was again appointed captain.
