FLOODS' AFTERMATH.
WATERS NOW RECEDING.; SCENES OF DESOLATION. SYDNEY, June 24. The floods in the Newcastle district are receding slowly. Some of the streets in Maitland are now clear, but a largo area is still under water. Many people have returned to their mud-covered homes. „ , At Stanhope there are scenes of desolation. All the crops have been ruined and many cattle, pigs and fowls have been drowned.
