TRAINING OF NURSES.
Sir, —In your report of Monday evening's meeting of the Council of Women, Dr. Mildred Staley is reported to havo said: "A cablegram has been received from the principal nursing body in England stating there could bo no reciprocity between the two countries if nurses were trained in private hospitals in New Zealand." This i? a very serious statement. Did Dr. Mildred Staley receive this cablegram? Has she seen the original ? Has she seen tho cablegram or letter to which it was a reply? Dr. Mildred Staley will be doing the puzzled public a distinct service if sho will publish the text of the cablegrams to and from the English nursing body. If sho does not do so, the inference will be obvious. Mediccs.
