THRONE OF HUNGARY.

OCCUPANT SUGGESTED. YOUNG ARCHDUKE'S CHANCE. PRAGUE, June 22. Following upon King Carol's coup in Rumania, a Czecho-Slovakian Socialist newspaper says it is being planned that tho young Archduke Otto, eldest son of the former Emperor Karl of Austria, should visit Hungary and with the aid of 55,000 Fascist officers and soldiers be proclaimed King of Hungary. A message from Brussels says it is reported there that a number of influential Hungarians have arrived at. Sieennockerzeel, where tho Archduke Otto is living with his mother.

The Archduke Otto of Austria was born in 1912. For somo time he has resided in Belgium. Hungary was declared a republic on November 17, 1918, its territories being decreased from the area of the former Kingdom of Hungary (which was united to the Austrian Empire by tho identity of sovereigns) through the transfer of Transylvania to the Rumanians, of Croatia and Slavonia to the new Yugoslavia, and of Slovakia and Ruthenia to Czecho-Slovakia. However, by the unanimous vote of the National Assembly Hungary was reconstituted as a kingdom in 1920. In 1921 the ex-Emperor Karl made two efforts to regain the throne, remaining in the country from March 26 to April 5, and from October 21 until he was removed by escort. On each occasion the Hungarian Government was informed that a Hapsburg restoration would not be tolerated by the European Powers.
