DANCE AT NORTHCOTE.
PRIZE-GIVING EVENING. One of tho most successful and wellattended dances held at Northcoto this season was given at tho Orcwa Theatre at Northcoto last evening when tho North-cote-Birkcnhead Regatta Club gave its annual prize-giving. Tho hall was hung with festoons of balloons and coloured paper and tho supper tables, which were arranged on tho stago, wero decorated with bluo and golden coloured early spring flowers. Tho Merrymakers' Orchestra, under Miss B. States, played tho danco music, which w<%s much appreciated During the evening tho prizes and trophies won last season wero presented by Captain Sargeant, harbourmaster, who was assisted by Mr. Noel Campbell. Tho ladies' committee was as follows Miss McGilp, who wore a frock of black and flesh pink ring velvet with diamante clasps; l\liss R. Devlin, amethyst satin with shoulder capo scauinncd in silver; Mrs. J. Dickson, Nile greon lace and georgette with rhinestono trimming; Mrs A. W. Tyler, chartreuse green georgette; Miss 0. Reed, palm green chiffon velvet with head ornament in a deeper shade; Mrcs T. Couldrey, floral ninon in shades of orange. Others present were :—Mrs. Bailey, who wore black georgette; Miss Chetwync, red taffeta; Miss Gladys Wilson, scarlet embossed georgetto; Miss Ena Martin, white taffeta; Miss A. McFetridge, beigo rose georgetto; Mis. G. O'Leary, green georgette with silver beads; Miss M. Hurley, sunset-shaded taffeta; Miss 11. Wilson, turquoiso bluo taffeta with hand embroidered flowers; Mrs. Hurley, bluo floral taffeta; Miss M. Cunnold, apricot floral taffeta; Miss P. Le Clerc, floral taffeta with tiered skirt; Miss I'. State, apricot hmo with satin hip swathing; Miss N. Stokes, lacquer red satin and crepo de chine; Miss M. Stokes, black lace and blue shoulder flower; Miss E. Young, floral taffeta; Mrs. 11. Tver, flowered ninon; Miss Winbum, white chiffon velvet; Mrs. A. Clarke, delphinium blue crepo de chine; Miss M. Herrick, pink embossed georgette; Miss R. Taylor, coral pink satin; Mrs. Hayman, scarlet crepo satin; Mrs. N. Campbell, fuchsiashaded georgette..
