GIFT AFTERNOON. Miss Ruby Vickery, whoso marriage takes place shortly, was the guest cf honou'r at a bathroom gift afternoon given by Miss Florence Hall, at her home, Ohaupo Road. Bridge was played, the prizewinners being Miss M. Richards attd Miss K. Wilson. Miss Hall received, her guests wearing a frock of hyacinth bluo chenille georgette. Mrs. Hall wore a black laco frock and floral lame bridge coat. Tho guest of honour wore nutmeg brown pleated crepo dorien frock with small bcigo hat and fur coat. Thoso present included Miss B. Vickery, Mrs. Ellis (Otorohanga), Mrs. A. Brernner, Miss 13. Manning, Miss C. Cliilty, Miss V. Watts, Miss N. Valder, Miss D. Yule, Miss M. Richards, Miss K. Wilson, Miss D. Clark. Afternoon Tea. Miss Z. Nathan was tho guest of honour at an afternoon tea given by Miss Riro Brewis in tho Wattle Tea Rooms. Miss Nathan has recently returned to New Zealand after travelling abroad for two years. Among thoso present were: Mrs. L. Swales, Mrs. A. R. Brown, Mrs. Phillip Nathan (Wellington), Mrs. P. R. Stewart, Mrs. E. J. Mears, Mrs. 11. Douglas, Dr. Mary Douglas, Mrs. 11. T. Gillies, Mrs. C. L. McDiarmid, Mrs. T. C. Eraser, Airs. E. C. Day, Miss Harrowell, Mrs. Lanco Tompkins, Miss M. Stevens. Mrs. Ken. Trembath, of Marama Street, is visiting Auckland, whore she is the guest of her mother, Mrs. T. B. Clay. Miss Z. Nathan and Miss P. Nathan, of Wellington, were visitors to Hamilton last week. They have since left for Pahnerston North. Mrs. R. G. Guy is staying in Rotorua. Mrs. Owen Monckton is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Randall Sherratt, of Gisborne.

Mrs. J. A. Wilson, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. R. D. McFarland, has returned to Auckland.

Mrs. 'Sinclair Arthur has left Hamilton for Auckland, where she will spend some tirno before going to the South Island to live,
