NATAL NEGOTIATIONS.

FRANCE AND ITALY. NO FORWARD MOVE MADE. (Received Juno 19, 5.15 p.m.) British Wireless. RUGBY. June 18. The Foreign Secretary, Mr. Arthur Henderson, stated in the House of Commons to-day that no negotiations about naval armaments had taken place between Britain and France since the adjournment of the London Naval Conference. However, the subject naturally had come up in conversation with the French and Italian Foreign Ministers on his recent visit to Geneva. In regard to a proposal made in questions for a suspension of naval shipbuilding the Minister referred members to the conciliatory offer of the Italian Government to suspend the laying down of any units of its 1930 general programme while the negotiations for which the conference was adjourned were proceeding, provided that similar action was taken by the French Government.
