THE ONEHUNGA CLUB. : i' ■ The 29th annual, meeting of the Onehunga Bowling Club was presided over by Mr. R. Bucha'nan.' There was a record attendance of members. The report stated that 17 new members had. joined last season and the club v/aa in a better position than. it had been for many years. The gredtte were in splendid'order and the outlook for the coming season was very bright. The balance-sheet showed the finances of the club to be in a very sound position. • It was resolved to continue playing the championship on the 21 points system and also the president and vice-president fours System of competition which has been successfully run for the past 14 years. Mr. T. Schnackenberg presented the club with a gold medal to be held by the winning skip of the vice-president's fours for one year. The new president, Mr. I. J. Sutherland, presented the prizes won during the season as follows:—Championship, S. Vella; runnerup. P. Mackune; champion pair, T. George, A. A. Kenny; runners-up, A. Wiggington, E. B. The twenty-ninth annual meeting of tho Eocky Nook Bowling Club was presided over by tho president, Mr. W. H'. Tongue. There was a good attendance. Tho president, in congratulating the members of the club, both from a playing and financial point, of view, said it was. very gratifying to find that, although the membership had decreased considerably, tho playing strength had been maintained. The club had achieved considerable success in tournaments, notably tho semi-final of the Bendigo Bowls and the semi-finals of the Auckland Centre's champion pairs, while a rink skipped by J. L. Wakerley was successful against a rink skipped by W. 11. Keatley in the final of the King's Birthday tournament at Auckland, As regards tho financial position, the club was in a better position by £SO than last season. Thanks were due to the ladies of the Croquet Club, who had contributed and raised approximately £127 during the year. It was decided to ask for a reduced representation in the pennant competition, as the averago attendance was 48 last aoaron and 12 rinks had been entered, and the club had some difficulty in finding the players.
