THE SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP^ PLAY IN SECOND ROUND. MARIST AGAINST NEWTON. . Tho Auckland Rugby League will commence the second round of its senior competition matches to-morrow, when three fixtures will bo played ivfc Carlaw Park. Marist and Newton will play in tho principal fixture on No. 1 ground at 3 p.m. Marist, which holds tho lead for championship honours, ill meet ono of tho most promising teams in the competition. It is unlikely Newton will win, but an interesting game may' result, City and Ivingsland play the curtain-raiser. On No. 2 ground an oven game is expected between Devonport. and' Ponsonby. At Grey Lynn Park Richmond plays Ellerslie. It is expected that most of the players chosen to tour Australia will assist their clubs to-morrow.
