RUSSELL TO WHANGAREI.
Sir,—l havo noticed recently several references to tho road from Russell to Whangarei containing suggestions _ that this road, which has lately been linked up, should bo called Bissct's Road, or tho Bisset Road. As ono who liappfcns. to havo been intimately acquainted with Mr. A. E. Bisset for a great many years aijd knowing how he has, practically from tho day he went to reside in Russell, battled for road connection from that placo to tho outsido world,, tho obstacles and prejudicos ho met with, and tho time and trouble and patience he had to exercise in order to accomplish tho end in view—l heartily concur with tho suggestion, and think it would be a most suitable and graceful recognition of his years of public service and effort. An Old Whangarei Friend. j j
