RETURNED SOLDIERS.
THE AUCKLAND EXECUTIVE. REMITS FOR CONFERENCE. Remits for discussion at tho forthcoming Dominion conference at Wellington wero considered at a meeting of tho general executive of the Returned Soldiers' Association last evening. General Sir George Richardson presided. The list included a resolution lo oppose strongly any movoment for tho abolition of Anzac Day. Anothor remit suggested that poppies of a different tint should bo sold each year. It was stated that the publication of a list of mombers had greatly incrcasod tho membership of tho association and it was decided to publish one again this year. OTAHUHU CLUB'S YEAR. PROGRESS MAINTAINED. The animal meeting of tho Otahuhu Returned Soldiers' Social Club was held on Wednesday evening. A rocord attendance of members tvas presided over by the president, Rev. C. B. W. Seton. Tho annual report showed that the club continued to mako steady progress, and tho balanco-sheet showed a strong financial position. The club decided to support tho proposed formation of a Soldiers' Civil ReEstablishment League, as recommended by the Soldiers' Rehabilitation Commission.. Tho following officers wcro elected President, Rev. C. B. W. Seton; vicepresident, Mr. H. Fearnley • treasurer,' Mr. K. Todd; secretary, Mr. T. W. Day; committeo, Messrs. A. T. McLaren, G. V. Pearce, W„ Wells, C. Lowe, H. Dickey, J. Haslip; investigation of distress committee, Messrs. Brant, A. Heskett, H. T. Garland. It was decided, in view of tho unemployment of several returned men, to organise a function for the purpose of raising money for relief work.
