OPERATIC SOCIETY.
FRIENDS ENTERTAINED.
Members of tho Auckland Amateur Operatic Society entertained a large gathering of friends at a very enjoyable party in tho society's hall, Grafton Road, last evening. Excellent music was provided and in between dances somei very enjoyable items were presented. Songs were given by Miss Rose Kennedy, Miss Mary Cofield and Mr. Charles Prime; musical numbers by the Snappy Three (Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Prentice and Mr. A. Birch), and a sketch, " Reminiscences" by Mrs. Lan Simson, Mr. Charles Prime and Mr. F. McCallum.

Sawers, floral chiffon; Mrs. Alan Hart, apple-green georgette; Mrs. Bird, blue moire taffeta; Mrs. H. Buisson, black frilled net; Miss Ethel Rae, black georgette, embroidered in pink and gold; Miss Gladys Fowler, orange ring velvet; Miss Eva Stares, black lace, with green moire hip bow; Miss Verner Wishart, lemon georgette and silver lame; Miss Alma Knight, scarlet taffeta; Miss M. -Craig, floral georgette; Miss M. Bragato, black moire; Miss K. Ince, lavender taffeta; Miss Irene Tanner, ankle-length frock of ravenswing-blue ring velvet; Miss Jean Carson, rose-pink crepe de soie, inlet with Oriental lame; Miss 0. Bickerton, black ring velvet bodice and ankle-length skirt of spotted tulle. _ . Miss Hope Aslier was in pink floral taffeta; Miss D. D'Autlireau, salmonpink taffeta and gold net; Miss D. Bagnall, black lace; Miss Merson, black georgette and moire; Miss Kitty Williamson. eau-de-nil georgette; Miss_M.
