SUCCESSFUL DANCE.
Shaded lights and artistic decorations of /lowers, foliage, and streamers mado an attractive setting for tho dance which was held in the Symondsville Studio last evening by tho Society for the Protection of Women and Children in aid of the society's funds. There was a good attendance of dancers, and the excellent music which was played was very much enjoyed.

Collins, briar rose georgette; Mrs. Edwards, black taffeta and lace; Mrs. Field, midnight blue georgette with beaded bodice; Mrs. Bell, pale green floral satin and net; Mrs. Wood, black georgette with sequinned skirt and black shawl; Mrs. A. E. Saunders, sca-grcen French net with anklelength skirt; Mrs. Dunlop, blue georgette with sequinned skirt; Miss Rountreo, green crepe de chine; Miss Thronsen, almond green crepe de chine; Miss Frater, pale pink georgette; Miss Bray, ivory taffeta; Miss Renwick, rose georgette; Miss Welch, shell pink georgette; Miss O'Neil, pale pink georgette and silver lace; Miss Surman, pale pink taffeta; Miss Thode, green georgette and silver lace; Miss Lee, pale green velvet and lace; Miss McGehan, ivory satin and net; Miss Wilson, flame taffeta; Miss M. Miss Shaw wore midnight blue taffeta; Miss Nicholas, leaf green cren£ de chine; Miss L. Barber, sea-green bvaded georgette; Miss Strceter, pale green ring velvet; Miss Braithwaite, rose pink taffeta; Miss Ryan, salmon p'ink georgette and ring velvet; Miss Dennis, Nile green georgette and lace; Miss Marks, black georgette with frilled skirt; Miss M. Hunter, sea-green chenille georgette; Miss Koefoed, black taffeta and pale pink flowers; Miss M. Paterson, floral satin and net; Miss Bradley, wine satin; Miss E. Carr, salmon pink taffeta and silver lace; Miss P. Hamlin, pale mauve taffeta arid shaded shoulder flowers; Miss M. Threlkeld, orange taffeta; Miss Whittom, black velvet with floral skirt; Miss Walker, pink satin and lace; Miss Jackson, crimson satin; Miss W. Read (Palmerston North), flame georgette and lace with lame coat; Miss Knox, shrimp georgette and lace; Miss Morgan, turquoise crepe de chine and lace. A brief speech was made by the president of the society, Mr. A. J. Stratford, thanking Mrs. and Miss Spencer for giving the studio for the evening and carrying out all the arrangements as well. He also thanked Mr. J. Row© and hi 3 orchestra, who gave their services gratis, and said how greatly the society appreciated the help that had been given in this way.
