WEDDINGS.
BONNIN GTON—GAMBLE
Tha wedding was celebrated yesterday, afternoon at S';. Peter's Church, Takapuna, of Miss Mary Spencer Gamble, daughter of Mr!!, and the late Mr. W. N., Gamble, of Roslyn, Hurstmere Road, Takapuna, ancl Dr. Reginald CEarles Bonnington, second son of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Bonnington, of Ashburton. The Rev. W. G. 'Monckton officiated. The bride, who entered the church with Mr. E. E. Grimwa.de, wore • a frock of del-phinium-blue georgette, with tight-fitting bodice and fu:J petalled skirt. A short' coat of chiffon, velvet in a lighter tone was worn over the frock and her felt lutfc was swathed with chiffon velvet ribbons. The bouquet which she carried was of pink and blue flowers. The only bridesmaid was Miss Margaret Henderson, who wore a beigo and autumn-shaded floial taffeta frock, with beige felt hat trimmed with orange velvet and a deep brim of tulle. Her bouquet was in autumn shades. Mr. Gordon Bonnington was best man. A reception was held after, the ceremony at Roslyn, where Mrs. Gamble received her g;uests wearing a frock of black chiffon velvet, with black felt hat. Her bouquet was of orchids. Mrs. Bonnington wore 3. black marocain cnsembie, with small-fitting black felt hat. A posy of violets was carried.
MILHAM-APPLETON
The marriage of Miss Charlotte Appleton, eldest daughter of Mr. H. Appleton, of 104, Park Road, Grafton, to Mr. Frederick Milbam, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Milham, of Virginia Avenue, Auckland. was celebrated at the Church oi tlie Holy Sepulchre, last evening. The Rev. J. E. Draper performed the ceremony.• The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of white satin 'beaute with a .full skirt, which* dipped at the back, and a large white tulle hip bow. Her embroidered tullo veil was finished at the end with a true lovers' knot and was arranged on tho head with a wreath of orange blossom. She carried a of St. Joseph lilies. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Hykla Appleton and Miss Iris Milham, who wore frocks of salmon pink souple satin with flared skirts which dipped to the ankles at each side, and were ornamented with bows of silver ribbon. Their pink tulle head-dresses were finished with large bows at the side and thev carried shower bouquets of pink and white flowers. Mr. Buchanan attended the bridegroom as best man and Mr._ J. Cargo was groomsman. Mrs. I. Knight was hostess at the reception which followed, and wore a frock of black georgette hand-painted in a floral design, and a black hat.
RIDDELL—BAILEY. Miss Hope Bailey, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Bailey, of Vauxhall Road, Devonport, was married last evening at St. David's Church to Mr. Henry Rfdclell, youngest son of Mrs. and the late Mr. G. Riddell, of Kirikiri, Bay of islands. Tho Rev. Coleman officiated. The bride, who was given away by lief father, woro an ankle-length frock of parchment-shaded chiffon v.elvet with slightly pouched bodice fitting to a pointed yoko of lace, edged with seed pearls. The skirt wait of two fluted flounces finished at the back with a flat bow falling to tho ground. Her veil was of very old hand-embroidered tullo, and was caught to the head with a spray of orango blossom across tho back. She carried a sheath of St. Joseph's lilies. Tho only attendant was Miss Hazel McLaren, who wore a fr(!ek of white aiTd phlox pink floral taffeta with a deep hem and yoko of white net. A diamante ornament was pinned to the French bow, which was worn at the back. Her hat of pink tulle was trimmed with' flat flowers of the same shaded velvet-with silver centres, and she carried a' bouquet' of cyclamens. Mr. Alec Riddel! was bestmail. Mrs. Bailey received her guests, after tho ceremony, at Hotel ("argon, weaving a frock of black lace and georgetto with hand-made .velvet flowers at tho edge of the short jacket, fox furs and a black hat. Mrs. Riddell wore black and white wool crepe de chine with a Bangkok hat and she carried a bouquet of violels.
THOMAS—HOLMES
A quiet wedding of interest to New Zealanders was celebrated at St. John s Church, Tooiak, Melbourne, when Miss Marv Gordon Holmes, second daughter of Mr and Mrs. Gordon Holmes, of Pokeno, Auckland (late of Holmes' Bay. Canterbury), was married to Mr. Geoffrey Arden Thomas, son of the late Mr. Joseph •\rdcn Thomas and M rs. Thomas, of .Cheltenham, England. The bride was given away by Dr. A. D. Ellis, and Mr. J. H. Reid was best man. The Rev.. M. Law; performed tho ceremony.:
