COLLISION WITH CAR.

RIDER'S CONDITION SERIOUS.

tSerious injuries to the head wero received by a motor-cyclist, Mr, Basil Oliver, aged about 25, of 237, Mount Eden Road, as a result of a collision between his motor-cycle and a motor-car at tho corner of Great North Road and Kirk Street, Archhill, at about 11.30 last night. Mr, Oliver was removed to the Auckland Hospital, and. his condition at an early hour this morning was reported to be serious. The car was travelling along tho Great North Road in tho direction of tho terminus and the njotoi'-cycle was going toward the city, tho rider's intontion. being to enter Kirk Street. _ The two vehicles met with, considerable force and Mr. Oliver was thrown heavily from his machine. Ho was taken to a shop near by iiiul was' attended by Dr. L. G. Drury, who ordered his immediato removal to the hospital. . , The ' motor-cyclo was practically wrecked and tho near-side rear wheol of tho motor-car was wrenched off.
