THEFT FROM SHOP DOOR.
TERM OF IMPRISONMENT.
The theft of a pair of boots, valued at 19s lid, from a shop doorway in Karangahapo Road on Monday was admitted in tho Police Court yesterday by John Ernest Bull, aged 55, steward, who said ho was under the influence of liquor at the time of tho theft.
Sub-Inspector Shanahan said tho proprietor of the shop saw accused standing outsido tho door, and when ho left was suspicious and followed him. Ho found the boots under Bull's overcoat and accosted him. Accused had a long lia.t of previous convictions for different offences, most of which wore duo to drink. "He is only just out of gaol; I gave him three months in February," said tho magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, perusing Bull's list. He imposed a further sentenc.o of three months' imprisonment.
