MR. FENTON IN OTTAWA, NEGOTIATIONS FOR TREATY. OTTAWA, May 13. Tho Australian Minister of Trade and Customs, Mr. J. S. Fcnton, is in Ottawa to interview the Canadian Government with a view to laying tho foundations of a trade agreement which he hopes will prove acceptable and beneficial to all concerned. At a luncheon to-day he was the guest of tho Governor-General and Viscountess Willingdon, where he met tin Minister of Trado and Commerce, Mr. James Malcolm. " Wo met, had a chat and are to meet again," said Mr. Fcnton. "I told Mr. Malcolm that wo Australians did not consider that Canada purchased a sufficiently largo part of her imports from us. J. am very hopeful that the Imperial Economic Conferences in London will settle a lot of things. Why cannot we members of tho British Commonwealth of Nations get together for tho mutual benelit of all ?V.
