AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP. RECORD ENTRY RECEIVED. LONDON, May 13. Tlio record entry of 272 has been received for the amateur golf championship at St. .Andrews, which will be begun on May 26. The competitors includo the eight American Walker Cup players and 14 others, also Michael Scott, L. M. MacPhorson, of the Royal Melbourne Club; L. IT. Campbell, of Christchurch, and C. J. Hay (Barwori Heads, Australia) has joined the last .'52 players in tho ladies' open golf championship. Sho defeated Mrs. Whitfield (Bramhall). In the third round, Miss Molly Gourlay, the English champion, beat Mrs. Wallace Williamson, 4 up and 3.
