BANKRUPT ARRESTED.
-o RETURNED FROM SYDNEY. APPEARANCE IN COURT. [ov XELKUI!ATII. —OWN* CORRESPONDENT.] XEW PLYMOUTH, "Wednesday. A bankrupt, Bert Thomas, formerly a farmer of Upper Mangorei, who, it was alleged, had absconded from the Dominion after having been made bankrupt on the petition of creditors, and was subsequent ly apprehended in Sydney, arrived back in New Plymouth to-day, and was brought before Mr. 1?. W. Tate, S.M., in the. Police Court this afternoon. Thomas was charged that within 12 months prior to his bankruptcy he left New Zealand and look with him certain moneys which should have been divided between his creditors. An application for a remand until next Wednesday Mas granted, and bail was fixed in bankrupt's own recognisance of £3OO and one surety of £3OO.
