The coalmining dispute still drags on. The question whether the miners shall return to work on the owners' terms will bo definitely decided about Thursday at aggregate meetings in various parts of the northern coalfields.
Mr. D. Da vies, general secrotary of the Miners' Federation, has received a telegram from the Federal Treasurer, Mr. E. G. Theodore, containing an offer from the Commonwealth Government of £IOO,OOO for the repatriation of surplus miners conditional upon the settlement of tho dispute.
It is believed that this offer will go a long way toward securing the assent of tho miners to the acceptance of tho owners' terms.
