Tho Whangiirci Agricultural and l'.-is-toral Society's Winter Exhibit ion was opened t! iis evening. Tho display of trail-; exhibits is much larger this year, and every portion of available spaco is occupied. Record entries have, been received tn practically all the competit i\c. classes, and a very fine uf exhibits was placed before the judges. There is every prospect of this year's .show bein~ an outstanding success. Tho judging of all classes was finished this evening, with the, exception of the poultry section. The official opening of the show will not be held until Thursday. The axemen's carnival will be held on Saturday. The prize list is as follows:FRUIT CLASSES. Apples.— Dessert: W.
